GM is set to reveal the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade at a lead-up event to the Oscars on February 4 in Los Angeles. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade has a revamped exterior design, a tuned powertrain, and a suite of high-tech infotainment and safety technologies. Since it’s set to premiere during one of the year’s biggest award shows, the new Escalade is bound to impress.
The Escalade recently ended the year as the top seller in its segment, offering unmatched luxury, comfort, and capabilities. New features on the 2021 model year will include an especially large grille—much like on the new CT4 and CT5 — as well as an upgraded 6.2-liter V8 engine. There will also be a special performance, or “V” version, available as well.
“It’s kind of in a class all to itself and that’s why I’m so excited for people to see how we’ve taken Escalade to the next level,” said GM CEO Mary Barra in an interview with Motor Trend magazine. “Yes, there are many competitors coming into the segment, but I think Escalade has a special place and will again exceed people’s expectations with the next model. It’s iconic.”
The Escalade will be built on the renowned GM T1 truck program, which means it’ll have the same platform and chassis as many of the durable trucks offered by Chevy and GM. It’ll also come with Cadillac’s hands-free Super Cruise technology, as well as potential options to go fully electric. We can’t wait to see the latest generation of the Escalade.
