The 2017 Cadillac XT5 crossover is one of the brand’s latest offerings into the crossover segment, with a slick, handsome style fused with great performance, upscale comfort, innovative technology, and now, unrivaled safety. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, or IIHS, recently completed crash testing the XT5 and awarded the crossover the highest possible safety rating of Top Safety Pick+.
In order to earn the Top Safety Pick+ title, vehicles must go above and beyond typical crash test requires. The IIHS subjects vehicles to five different crashworthiness tests – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. If a vehicle wants to achieve the TSP+ title, it must pass all of these tests with a rating of “Good,” and have at least an available Crash Avoidance & Mitigation System with an Advanced or Superior rating. For the record, the XT5 got “Superior” for its front crash prevention measures.
This honor from the IIHS is sure to cement the Cadillac XT5 crossover as a stand-out pick in the competitive crossover market for families who want to ensure their children are as safe and secure as possible. Even simply solo drivers looking for a crossover packed with excellence in engineering and all the latest available technology, safety or otherwise, will stop and take notice.
