When Cadillac first put together the ATS-V.R Racer, it’s hard not to wonder if the engineers were yelling, “It’s alive! IT’S ALIVE!” as it rolled off the assembly line. This is one hopped-up Cadillac.

What Cadillac did was take the powertrain found in the Cadillac ATS-V and gave it automotive steroids. They gave it “larger turbos, bigger intercoolers, side exhausts and other tricks.” All this adds up to an intimidating 600 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. Certainly not hurting the situation is the fact that it weighs in at a mere 2,900 lbs.
Johann de Nysschen, Cadillac president, said, “Elevating and expanding the V-series is the next logical step in Cadillac’s growth, including this new race car developed in GT3-specification.” What this specification means is that the Cadillac ATS-V.R. is “eligible to race in over 30 series worldwide,” according to AutoBlog. This will put it up against a lot of the major players in racing.
We at Crest Cadillac are excited to see the Cadillac ATS on the racing circuit. Be sure to check out the street version of the ATS we have.
