  • Comfort – When you first get in the car, play with the seat, adjust the mirrors, play with the radio, and adjust the temperature settings. If you aren’t comfortable, can’t see clearly, or find another problem, it may be a sign that you should pass.
  • Driving – Once you’re sure you can drive in comfort, it’s time to hit the road. Press on the accelerator, hit the brakes (safely), go around curves, and up and down hills. Be sure to drive on roads similar to those you usually drive on. If you drive up and down hills often and the car can’t handle it, it’s time to move on.
  • Considering – After you’re back at the dealership, take some time to think about the car. If the drive went well, you’ll be enticed to buy it then and there. Taking time to consider will help you work out both the good and the bad. Once you’ve made your final decision, let the dealer know.
