Cancer is a disease that has touched all of our lives. If you haven’t battled it yourself, you probably have a friend or family member who has. Because of this, millions of dollars are spent each year in both cancer research and treatment.
The GM Foundation has generously donated $400,000 to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. This grant is part of the institute’s 32nd Annual Dinner that is set to money for its chemotherapy unit renovation. Over the past 17 years, General Motors and the GM Foundation have donated nearly $7.3 million to the institute.
“Our donation to Karmanos Cancer Institute is part of the GM Foundation’s larger commitment to support the research and prevention of the major illnesses of heart disease, cancer and diabetes,” said GM Foundation President Vivian Pickard, in a press release. “Due to the tireless efforts of the Karmanos team and their excellent reputation, we are again extending our support to continue the fight against cancer.”
Cadillac will be the Host Sponsor for the Annual Dinner, which will be held on April 26 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. If you’re interested in making a donation yourself, or even attending the dinner, you can purchase tickets online.
Here at Crest Cadillac we are proud to see the GM Foundation make supporting cancer research such an important part of its mission.
