This month at the famous Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo Texas, art is being used to promote life in a unique way.
The month of April is Donate Life Month and in Amarillo, volunteers mobilized to perform a grand Cadillac Ranch makeover. The “ranch” is itself a work of art that showcases the tail-fin design-trend that lasted from 1949 to 1963. These half-buried cars have sat in the rural Texas countryside for over 40 years and have reached iconic status for I-40 travelers and pop culture alike.
The organizers for Donate Life have applied fresh coats of blue, red, and green paint on the Caddies with encouraging words and inspiring messages in hopes of leading on-lookers to become organ donors or to give blood. The inspiring tail-fin towers have received countless paint schemes over the years ranging from white to black and every color in between, but none so inspiring to save lives as this one.
At Crest Cadillac, we hope you will not only take the time to come see our newest fleet of Cadillacs, but also consider becoming a blood or organ donor to potentially give the gift of life to someone in need.
