In a movie premiere-like reveal with a flair for the dramatic, Cadillac introduced the company’s first compact luxury coupe at the 2014 North American International Auto Show.
“The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is a natural step in the brand’s progression, and another distinctive, fun-to-drive technologically advanced product for a new generation of drivers extending our target groups,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer for Global Cadillac.
“It is an exclusively distinctive American alternative, unique in its class, yet delivering a sporty and sophisticated driving experience rivaling the world’s best.”
The Coupe, the lightest vehicle in its segment, is designed to perform better than competitors while engaging the next generation of loyal Cadillac customers.
Its light-weight frame is constructed from high-strength steel, making the two-door Coupe a nimble machine responsive to drivers’ demands. With 14 percent more torque than its sister, the ATS Sedan, the compact coupe executes an impressive 5.6-second sprint from 0 to 60 mph. The coupe also benefits from an almost perfectly even 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity.
With two engine options, the choice between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and the optional FE3 driver-adjustable suspension, the 2015 ATS Coupe can put on a power show personalized to the driver’s desired experience.
As part of its starring role in the Cadillac lineup, the coupe is costumed with Cadillac’s updated Crest and Cadillac CUE, the latest in technology for the compact luxury segment.
Some of the technology suite’s features include a Wi-Fi hotspot available through OnStar, along with Siri Eyes Free and Text-to-Voice. Later this year, an in-car app store will become available as well.
The automaker plans for its leading lady to appeal to the younger generation of up and coming Cadillac buyers. We at Crest Cadillac think the 2015 ATS Coupe has had a flawless performance so far.
