Everyone knows the extra power a turbo can bring to a car’s performance, but it comes with a down side. The backside of the double edge sword is that there is a small interval where of time where there is a delay in the delivery of power, also known as “Turbo Lag”. So, although the overall horsepower of the vehicle is greatly increased, the initial jump off the line can experience a few seconds of delay. With Cadillac’s first ever Twin Turbo, which will be available in the new 2014 CTS Vsport midsized Sedan and the XTS Vsport full sized sedan, will remove the turbo lag effect for good.
These new V6 engines eliminate circuitous heat exchanger tubing with its new air flow design; this will allow it to improve torque response time over previous designs. The V6 twin turbo in the 2014 CTS Vsport is rated at 420 horsepower and is one of the most power dense engines available in the midsize luxury sedan segment. This twin turbo engine combined with Cadillac’s first ever eight speed transmission is putting the 2014 CTS Vsport in the record books for Cadillac. We here at Crest Cadillac can’t wait to get our hands on one in our showroom and see just how much power the 2014 CTS Vsport can pump out!
