The Escalade name branded on the back of Cadillac’s premium sport utility vehicle is a symbol of luxury. After the reveal of the all-new 2015 Cadillac Escalade last week, this has never been truer. So it’s perfectly understandable that Caddy is now trying to ride the momentum and thinking about building off of the Escalade’s reputation by introducing new offerings under the reputed name.
According to global Cadillac’s senior vice president Bob Ferguson, the company is considering using the Escalade name for a new crossover. “I think there’s a lot of equity in Escalade,” he stated Monday after unveiling the redesigned 2015 Escalade in New York. “I’d like to explore the notion of other vehicles that would carry that brand name.”
Of course, let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Ferguson stressed that no decisions had been made… as of now. But let’s be honest here—an Escalade crossover would be just awesome.
