Cadillac wants to bring back luxury on a grand scale, which is why it introduced the new Escala Concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. This concept gets its name from the Spanish word for scale, escala, and shows off its large dimensions quite well.
However, this concept isn’t just about showing off. Cadillac says it is a glimpse at the upcoming new design language for the brand and could become the basis for a larger flagship sedan—even bigger than the current full-size CT6.
“Escala is a concept with two clear objectives,” said Johan de Nysschen, president of Global Cadillac. “First, Escala is a statement of intent for the next iteration of the Cadillac design language, and also technical concepts in development for future Cadillac models. Secondly, Escala builds Cadillac’s aspirational character, signaling the brand’s return to the pinnacle of premium.”
In addition to its stellar exterior styling, the Escala also features a prototype for the next generation of driver connectivity and control. The interior is also adorned with hand cut-and-sewn luxurious materials.
Here at Crest Cadillac, we love this new concept design and can’t wait to see what kind of production vehicles we get with this grand scale.
